Vonda Mishler and MarilynIden will present music for the Sunday morning service at Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68, Butler Township.

The monthly missionary service will be at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Volunteers from Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, Butler Township, are needed to serve as bell ringers for the Salvation Army from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 8 at Wal-Mart. Volunteers are also needed to purchase Christmas gifts for foster children in the care of Children and Youth Services. Rehearsals resume Nov. 27 and will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The pageant will be presented at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 16. A family dinner will follow at 6:30 p.m.

Christ's Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave., will host its Thanksgiving dinner at 6 p.m. Friday.The church will host a Bible Quizzing Invitational at 10 a.m. Saturday.Communion will be served at both Sunday services.Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, all Wednesday evening activities have been canceled during the coming week.

Concord Presbyterian Church, 625 Hooker Road, West Sunbury, will hold a Thank Offering Service during the regular Sunday morning service. Stewardship pledges for next year's mission support will be dedicated, and the Women's Thank Offering will be received.A Joining Others in Living Together event will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the Dassa McKinney School gym. The event is open to all high school students.The Moniteau Food Pantry will be packing Thanksgiving food orders at 6 p.m. Monday in the church for distribution Tuesday morning. Pledge Dedication Sunday will be observed Sunday at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St. During the 11 a.m. worship service, members will bring their completed pledge cards forward for a dedication ceremony.The Seekers Class will view and discuss a "History of the Bible" DVD on Sunday. The class meets at 9:45 a.m. in the Assembly Room.

First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will host the annual Thanksgiving dinner and service of the Association of Independent Baptist Church of Western Pennsylvania from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today.The Rev. Dave Maitland, the church senior pastor and director of Slippery Rock Baptist Camp, will share an update report on the camp. Youth pastor from several participating churches will report on their ministries.

Consecration will be held at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St. A luncheon will follow. Blair Morgan will be the guest leader.The Senior Youth meeting will follow the luncheon.Baking for Meals on Wheels will be held Sunday.

A movie night will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the sanctuary at First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St. The movie "One Night with the King," rated PG, will be shown. Refreshments will follow in Asbury Chapel.

The Thanksgiving offering will be taken at both Sunday services at Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia.The annual meeting of the corporation and congregation will be held immediately following the 11 a.m. Sunday service. The election of officers will take place. The 2008 proposed budget will be presented. All members are encouraged to attend. The youth of Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church, 727 Old West 422, Franklin Township, will host a bake sale during the 8:45 and 11 a.m. Sunday services. After the 11 a.m. service, they will participate in Rake 'n Run, raking leaves for those in need.Donations for Operation Christmas Child will be dedicated during each service.The Food Cupboard will be open at 6:30 p.m. Monday. The Mexico Mission Team, who served at Tapestries of Life Ministries in Guadalupe, Mexico, will share about their recent mission trip Sunday at New Life Christian Ministries, South Butler Primary School, 328 Knoch Road, Saxonburg. Thanksgiving food items are being collected through Sunday at Zion United Methodist Church, Bear Creek Road, Sarver, for the Cabot Food Bank. Donations can be placed around the cornucopia in the sanctuary.The next Get Acquainted Luncheon will be held after the 10:45 a.m. Sunday service. Members whose last names begin with A-F, should take a dessert; those with names beginning with G-M, a salad or gelatin; and S-Z a vegetable, pasta or potato dish. Chicken, rolls and drinks will be provided.
