5:31 p.m. Sunday — Richard Biehl, 85, reported the theft of a $100 Toro leaf blower from his yard at 821½ E. Brady St. between 5 and 5:30 p.m.10:18 p.m. Oct. 6 — A vehicle driven by Melissa Leviere, 30, of Harmony struck a parked vehicle owned by Alexander Smith of Lyndora on Pillow Street. Leviere's vehicle then struck a second parked vehicle owned by Aimee Passauer of Butler. Leviere was charged with driving under the influence.
2:48 p.m. Saturday — A pickup truck driven by James Coast, 64, of Butler struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Joseph Semple, 26, of Evans City that was stopped for traffic on Route 308 in West Sunbury. Coast's passenger, John Lennon, 67, of Butler received a thumb injury. No other injuries were reported. All three men were wearing seat belts.1:52 p.m. Thursday — A 13-year-old boy was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana after marijuana and a metal smoking pipe were found in his locker at Karns City High school in Fairview Township.Thursday — Someone stole a Comfort Zone tree stand and a climbing stick owned by Jeffrey Vodenichar, 40, of Butler from a wooded area along Country Club Road in Franklin Township between 7 p.m. Oct. 12 and 4:50 p.m. Oct. 26. Anyone with information about the theft should call police at 724-284-8100.1:45 p.m. Wednesday — James M. Lauricia, 22, of Butler was arrested for possession of suspected marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following a stop for having a fraudulent state inspection sticker on the windshield on West Penn Street. City police assisted state police at the scene.Oct. 23 — Leigh Thomas, 27, of Cabot reported someone bought numerous items totaling an unknown amount using store credit cards under her name between Sept. 8 and Oct. 23. Police are investigating.11 a.m. Sept. 25 — Nicholas Moraitis, 54, of Sarver reported never receiving a musical instrument he paid for by wiring money overseas.
4:20 p.m. Saturday — A tractor-trailer driven by Sandy Lepitre of Kingston, Ohio, struck a Jersey barrier on Interstate 79 in Springfield Township before catching on fire. Lepitre was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. The Springfield Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire. The northbound lane and exit ramp were closed while spilled diesel fuel was cleaned off the road. PennDOT and the state Department of Environmental Protection assisted at the scene.3:30 p.m. Saturday — A pickup truck driven by James Stitt, 86, of Slippery Rock struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Deborah Warner, 50, of Grove City while her vehicle was stopped to turn left off Route 258 in Liberty Township. Both drivers were wearing seat belts and had minor injuries. The Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Department and Superior Ambulance assisted at the scene. Stitt was cited for not driving a vehicle at a safe speed.
Wednesday — Someone stole about $86 from the Eccles-Lesher Memorial Library on Main Street in Rimersburg between 8:15 p.m. Oct. 24 and 7 a.m. Oct. 25.
