Rob McClellan of Olde Stonewall Golf Course fired a 33-37-70 at Monday's 84 Lumber Classic Qualifier at Quicksilver Golf Course in Midway.

Sean Knapp of St. Jude Golf Course shot a 34-38-72 and is in a six-way tie for first place at the Pennsylvania Middle Amateur Championship at Philadelphia Country Club.Knapp won the event in 1995 and 1996.The event is limited to male members of Pennsylvania Golf Association affiliated clubs 25 years of age or older who have a handicap index of 7.4 or lower.Play continues today.
Steve Minton, a freshman on the Thiel College football team, was named Tomcat Offensive Player of the Week.The Seneca Valley graduate rushed for 109 yards on 19 carries and two touchdowns in Thiel's 45-14 win over Bluffton Saturday.
Sarah Arsenault, a senior forward on the SRU women's soccer team, captured the PSAC West Player of the Week award.Arsenault scored two goals, including the game-winner, in a 4-3, come-from-behind overtime win over Edinboro. She also added a game-winner against Lock Haven.
Joe Boros of Treesdale Golf and Country Club tied for sixth place by shooting a 36-36-71 at the 2004 March of Dimes Classic at Fox Chapel Golf Club Monday.The Saxonburg golfer tied Joe Klinchock of Chartiers Country Club. Gordon Vietmeier of Mt. Lebanon Golf Club fired a 33-33-66 on the par 70 course to win $2,500.John Aubrey Sr. of Aubrey's Dubbs Dred finished the round with a 37-39-76.
