The Puryears in 1958

Bill and LucillePuryear of Slippery Rock celebrated 50 years of marriage with an open house June 27 at Branchton United Methodist Church in Branchton.

Puryear married the former Lucille Sankey on June 27, 1958, at Branchton United Methodist Church.

They have three children, Billy Puryear of Hilliards, Joe Puryear of West Sunbury and Jim Puryear of Slippery Rock.

They also have five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Puryear is a retired truckdriver. He showed quarter horses for many years.

Mrs. Puryear, as a secretary and homemaker, groomed quarter horses and was active in 4-H for many years.
