Anne Gray Hays
Anne Gray Hays, 92, of Zelienople passed away Wednesday evening at Passavant Retirement Community.
Born in Philadelphia, Aug. 25, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Ralph C. and Annetta Fry Gray.
Mrs. Hays was a Lutheran. She has lived at Passavant Retirement Community for 37 years, holding Bible study meetings in her house.
A graduate of Temple University's Business College, she worked as an executive secretary at the Rate firm in Philadelphia, until her marriage to the Rev. Carl Thornton Hays, who passed away Jan. 9, 1993. They served five parishes in Western Pennsylvania for more than 50 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Roland (Carolyn) Raham of Keystone Heights, Fla.; two sons, Thorne Hays of Pittsburgh and Robert (Margaret) Hays of Lansing, Mich.; three grandchildren, Nancy Butville, Cynthia Cholger and Anna Beth Hays; and four great-grandchildren, Elaine, Dianne, Constance and Justyn.
She was preceded in death by a brother, the Rev. Walter Gray, and a sister, Sarah Gray Baumgartner.
<B>HAYS — </B>Friends and relatives of Anne Gray Hays, who died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday at <B>A. CARL KINSEY-RONALD N. VOLZ FUNERAL HOME,</B> 114 W. Spring St., Zelienople. Additional hours of visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m., Monday at Seamon Memorial Chapel at Passavant Retirement Community. Services follow at 10 a.m. at Seamon Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Wilfred Goetz officiating.
