Green 60th anniversary

Viola 'Min' and Aloysius 'Skip' Green

Aloysius “Skip” and Viola “Min” Green of Butler celebrated 60 years of marriage with a Mass and vow renewal at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Herman followed by a family dinner at Rachel’s Roadhouse. They also had an open house at the Herman Fire Hall.

Green married the former Viola Varljen on May 23, 1953, at St. Mary Catholic Church in West Winfield.

They have six children, David Green of Bluffton, S.C., Barbara Pinto of Butler, Susan Slopek of Fort Washington, Beth Perri of Maple Glen, Pa., Donald Green of Crittenden, Ky., and Amy Gallagher of Butler.

They also have 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Green retired from Pullman Standard and then was self-employed as a home remodeler.

Mrs. Green is a homemaker.

The Greens, members of St. Mary Church in Herman, were Eucharist ministers. Mrs. Green serves on the parish council and is an active volunteer.
