Taggart

Mary Grace Coccaro Taggart, 93, of Barboursville, Va., passed away peacefully at her home Monday surrounded by family.

Born Jan. 6, 1915, in Rockwood, Pa., she was the daughter of Joseph and America Coccaro.

For the majority of her life, Mrs. Taggart lived in Butler, where she and her husband opened their home to boys, teaching them fitness and boxing skills.

She was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church and was well known for her homemade bread, pizza, sauces, pies and cookies. She also loved knitting, crocheting, opera and most recently found endless joy in her great-grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Great."

Mrs. Taggart is survived by a daughter and her husband, Carolyn and William Riesmeyer of Barboursville; a granddaughter and her husband, Jennifer and Erik Elvgren of Barboursville; three great-grandchildren, William, Elizabeth and Sophia Elvgren, all of Barboursville; a sister, Alice Coccaro Weisenstein of Pittsburgh; two nieces; and a nephew.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Robert Taggart, who she married June 19, 1933; a son Charles Robert Taggart Jr.; and three brothers, Joseph Jr., John and Albert Coccaro.
