Butler Police2:14 p.m. Saturday — Kari Ann Smith, 21, was arrested after she allegedly assaulted her boyfriend, Charles Rocha, during a domestic dispute at her home on Fourth Avenue.Rocha told police that Smith struck him in the face and grabbed him by the throat. Police noted that he had “deep scratches” on the left side of his neck.The defendant was arraigned on a charge of simple assault and released on her own recognizance.5:35 a.m. Saturday — Stephen L. Beck, 53, was arrested after he allegedly punched his girlfriend in the face during an argument at his home on Third Avenue. The alleged victim, Kimberly Greenawalt, suffered a swollen lower lip and lost a bottom tooth in the suspected assault.Police said Beck admitted punching Greenawalt but claimed he did it the previous night. He was arraigned on a charge of simple assault and placed in the Butler County Prison on $3,000 bail.8:31 p.m. Saturday — Eric J. Luketil, 31, no known address, was arrested after he allegedly threatened to injure his girlfriend, Kayla Ealy, at a home in the 300 block of West Birch Street, where police were called for an altercation that broke out during a party.Officers got there and found Luketil, who appeared intoxicated and was being restrained by another man. The defendant, upon being released, started “aggressively approaching (and) pushing toward” others at the house, court documents said.He also “imitated shooting a long gun” near officers, according to a police affidavit, before approaching them in an aggressive manner. When officers tried to arrest him, he pulled way.Luketil was arraigned on charges of resisting arrest and simple assault. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $3,000 bail following arraignment.Dec. 27 — An arrest warrant was issued for Wallace E. Fleming Jr., 57, of Butler stemming from a suspected case of domestic violence. He is accused of assaulting his girlfriend, Tina Baker, at an apartment in the 300 block of East Jefferson Street.Baker told police that Fleming grabbed her and pushed her into the fireplace, where her head struck the mantle, according to court documents. An argument over a bottle of vodka preceded the altercation.Police said Baker was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with injuries, including a large bump on the side of her head and scratches on her right arm.Fleming is charged with simple assault.

Adams Twp PoliceNov. 8 — Vernon L. Wise IV, 27, of Penn Township was charged with drunken driving following a one-vehicle wreck in October.Wise was allegedly more than twice the legal limit for alcohol when his pickup truck drifted off Union Church Road, hitting a utility pole and trees before ending up in the woods. He claimed the crash happened after he swerved to avoid two deer on the road.He was taken to UPMC Passavant Cranberry for a blood test, which showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.178 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.In addition to driving under the influence, Wise is charged with accidents involving damage to unattended property, failing to immediately notify police of an accident, driving with an open container of alcohol and disregarding traffic lanes.
