U.S. Navy Seaman Recruit Lauren Innes recently completed basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Innes is a 2011 graduate of South Lake High School in St. Clair Shores, Mich., and is the daughter of Grace Innes of Glenshaw and Allan Innes of St. Clair Shores.

U.S. Army Pvt. Matthew McCandless has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

McCandless is a 2010 graduate of Knoch High School and is the son of Joyce Schnur and Keith McCandless, both of Butler.
