U.S. Army 1st Lt. Elizabeth Lewis recently started as a public affairs officer assigned to the 864th Engineer Battalion at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash.

The 2007 Butler High School graduate received a bachelor’s in 2011 from the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, N.Y.

She is the daughter of Ted Small of Butler.

U.S. Army Reserve Spec. Josh DeGeorge has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

The 2003 Butler High School graduate received a bachelor’s in 2007 from West Virginia University, Morgantown, W.Va.
