Jackson's Pointe developments OK'd by township supervisors

JACKSON TWP — Plans for Penske Truck Rental and a flex building to be built at Jackson’s Pointe were approved Thursday evening by the township supervisors.

Representatives from The Buncher Co. and PVE Sheffler discussed plans with the township.

Buncher is the real estate developer that owns the property while PVE Sheffler is doing civil engineering.

“It’s a vibrant area. It’s close to the interstate,” said Rocco Magrino, PVE Sheffler civil engineer.

The plans already were recommended by the township planning commission.

The Penske Truck Rental facility will take up about 5.4 acres. It will have 3,000 square feet of office space and 9,800 square feet of truck maintenance areas along with 88 parking spaces.

Parking spaces will be available for drivers of different-sized rental trucks.

“It’s a pretty low-impact use,” Magrino said.

Magrino said trees will be planted to provide more of a buffer between the Penske facility and homes about 280 feet away. A 500-foot long opaque fence will also be built across the facility.

Additional landscaping is planned for all other sides of the facility too.

The flex building is planned off Russell Road across from the Penske facility on about 8.2 acres.

The steel-framed building will be about 93,000 square feet.

“It’s a pad ready site. It’s ready to go,” Magrino said.

A medical supply manufacturer is in discussion with Buncher to lease 60,000 square feet of the building, said Brian Goetz, Buncher executive vice president, at the planning commission meeting.

The other 33,000 square feet of space can be used by a variety of businesses, including retail.

A walking trail is planned to run by the building that will connect to future businesses that move into the commerce park.

Additional landscaping will be done around the building.

Final costs have not been determined for either development.
