11:25 p.m. Saturday — John McFarland Jr., 33, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his car hit a pine tree on Ball Park Road.McFarland and two passengers in the car fled after the crash but were later located. One passenger, Dakota McFarland, 12, of Connoquenessing Township, was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for a leg injury.McFarland and John Dunmyre, 20, of Butler, another passenger, suffered minor injuries. Police said that McFarland, in addition to DUI, faces charges for other undisclosed traffic violations.
3:11 a.m. Saturday — Thomas Hall Jr., 25, of Pulaski, Lawrence County, is accused of a hit-and-run crash on Evans City Road at the Sheetz store.Hall was driving a car that struck another vehicle, driven by Wayne Smith, 28, of Connoquenessing, and drove away after the crash.Northwest Regional police later arrested Hall for suspicion of driving under the influence. Butler Township police said Hall faces charges for leaving the scene of an accident involving damage and failing to provide information to the other driver.Saturday — Antionette Christy reported someone took six compact discs from her car parked on New Castle Road. Police said the car was unlocked and its engine was running.
11:10 a.m. Saturday — Oscar Gross, 54, ofPittsburgh is accused of attacking the car of a driver who allegedly cut him off in a drive-thru lane at the National City Bank in the Butler Commons.An enraged Gross got out of his vehicle, cursed at the occupants of the car and hit the car's window with his fist.Gross then went inside the bank and, according to employees and customers, created another disturbance with his "tumultuous behavior and language,"a police report said.The suspect left the bank and walked back to the car that was still in the drive-thru lane. He punched the hood of the car with his fist, causing about $890 in damages. Police said Gross faces charges of criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.
2:20 a.m. Sunday — Bran W. Hetrick, 21, of Chicora was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Main Street in Chicora.Hetrick also faces charges for careless driving, not wearing a seat belt, not using a turn signal, running a stop sign and a lane violationSunday — An undisclosed amount of aluminum siding was stolen from a Spike Road cottage in Winfield Township. The theft occurred between 5 p.m. Thursday and 1:30 p.m. Sunday. William Ward Jr. of Allegheny County owns the stolen property.4:50 a.m. Wednesday — Kenneth Jones, 39, of Sarver was injured when his vehicle skidded on the snow and struck another vehicle on Route 228 near the Saxony Golf Course in Clinton Township.Jones was treated at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh for moderate injuries. Kent Roberts, 54, of Saxonburg, the other driver, was not injured.8:49 p.m. Dec. 30 — Acar driven by Brittany Rihel, 20, of Slippery Rock crashed down an embankment and overturned on Route 138 in Clay Township. Rihel was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for unknown injuries.State Police, New CastleSaturday — An unknown burglar forced open a vending machine and took an unknown amount of change after breaking into the Castlewood Rod and Gun Club in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. The burglary occurred between Dec. 30 and Saturday.
