9:58 p.m. Wednesday —Christopher Cunningham, 25, of Butler is accused of banging on the door of an Eighth Avenue home and threatening to kill a man inside.Cunningham and his brother had gone to the home of Susan Smith looking for the woman's son, James Smith, who lives there. Cunningham was apparently upset with 19-year-old James Smith, who several weeks earlier had gotten into a fight with the defendant's brother.Cunningham began to "violently pound"the door at the Smith home. He also allegedly broke the screen of another door.Police were called to the home and later interviewed Cunningham, who admitted he had gone to the house and threatened James Smith; however, he told officers he never had a gun and does not own a gun.Cunningham is charged with terroristic threats, defiant trespass, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.

2:26 a.m. Wednesday — Mark Musser, 28, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 8 South. Musser also faces charges for speeding and not stopping at a stop sign.

2:30 a.m. today — Patricia A. Brown, 43, of Butler suffered minor injuries when the vehicle she was driving crashed into a ditch on Route 68 in Oakland Township. Police said Brown was not wearing a seat belt.12:23 a.m. today — Richard William Wise, 45, of Chicora was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his car crashed into an embankment at Center Drive and Stein Road in Oakland Township.Thursday — An undisclosed amount of money and rolls of postage stamps were stolen in a burglary between 10:30 p.m. Wednesday and 6:30 a.m. Thursday at the Minner Co. garage on Melody Lane in Jefferson Township.Police said they believe the burglar is the same person who overnight also stole a $4,000 engagement ring from a vehicle parked at a Melody Lane home.Thursday — Police said David H. Tack Jr., 42, of Butler, is suspected of stealing a Craftsman drill and weed eater between 1:45 and 2:45 p.m. from the Sears store, Clearview Mall in Center Township. Anyone with information about Tack's whereabouts is asked to call the barracks at 724-284-8100.Wednesday — A burglar stole an undisclosed amount of tools after breaking into a construction trailer behind the Petrolia fire station in Fairview Township. The burglary occurred between 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and 6:30 a.m. Wednesday. Milcam Inc. of Brookfield, Ohio owns the stolen property,Wednesday — About 18 feet of copper gutter was stolen between 8 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Wednesday from a storage shed at the Butler City Hunting & Fishing Club on Second Street in Summit Township.Tuesday — A Ranger 6300 CB radio was stolen between 5 a.m. Monday and 1 p.m. Tuesday from a truck on East United Road in Cherry Valley. Milford Stevens owns the stolen property.June 4 — Police charged Kenneth J. Kastelic Jr., 44, of Butler with being a habitual offender for driving with a suspended license, following a May 25 traffic stop at Route 173 and Kelly Boulevard in Slippery Rock.Kastelic also is charged with driving with a suspended-DUI related, driving a vehicle without inspection, violation of certificate of inspection, not using a seat belt, and altered documents.

8:19 a.m. Tuesday — A Jackson Township resident reported that 40 to 50 small American flags that lined the entrance to the Rock Lake residential plan had been struck by a vehicle. The estimated cost of the flags was about $40.7:23 a.m. July 13 — A vehicle driven by Ian Magill, 22, of 259 Magill Road, Jackson Township, was stopped on Route 68 attempting to turn onto Edmond Street when his vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Michael Sklarsky, 23, of 7710B Franklin Road, Cranberry Township. No injuries were reported. Sklarsky was cited by police for failing to drive at safe speeds.11:40 p.m. July 10 — Jeanne Bosco, 56, of 37 Dover Dr., Cranberry Township, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, disregard of traffic lane, careless driving, carrying and exhibiting driver's license on demand and restrictions on alcoholic beverages following a traffic stop on Route 19.11:40 p.m. July 5 — Michael Vincent Profetta, 25, of 13 Pine Brook Dr., Cranberry Township, was charged with driving under the influence, failing to drive on the right side of the road and reckless driving following a traffic stop at the intersection of Ridge and Evans City roads.June 30-July 1 — Township police, in conjunction with the Butler County district attorney's sobriety checkpoint program, made six arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol at a checkpoint on Route 19. Those charged with DUI are: Donna Jane Luke, 36, of New Castle; Thomas M. Fundy, 37, of Zelienople; Matthew S. Ohlsson, 25, of Zelienople; Eric Edward Wobb, 46 of Freedom, Beaver County; Joseph Edward Turner, 28, of Pittsburgh and Frank Thaddeus, 27, of Portersville.2:04 a.m. June 30 — Gerald E. Litzenburg, 49, of Harmony, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop on Route 19.
