4:05 p.m. Wednesday — A mini-van driven by James Caccamo, 49, of Butler struck a pickup truck that was stopped on Lincoln Avenue in front of the Center Avenue Elementary School.Police said Caccamo drove away after the crash. Officers later found Caccamo and cited him for accidents involving damage to an attended vehicle and driving with a suspended license. Tracey Newhart, 42, of Butler was driving the pickup.Wednesday — Police reported they cited a 23-year-old city man on a drug-related charge in connection with a suspected overdose last week.Officers and paramedics were called about 5:30 a.m. April 10 to the East Penn Street home of Michael Baptiste, who was unconscious on the floor of his bedroom. He was revived after being given two doses of Narcan, a drug used to counteract the effects of heroin.Police said they found a "large quantity" of empty stamp bags of suspected heroin in a kitchen garbage can. Baptiste, who refused further medical treatment, was later cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.Wednesday — Police reported that Bonnie Sue Graff, 50, of Butler was cited for a hit-and-run crash on April 2 at the Chestnut Inn parking lot. Police said Graff was driving a pickup that struck a parked car owned by Ray Sanders of Chicora.Tuesday — Joshua Young, 20, of Butler was charged with breaking into two vehicles overnight. Police said Young allegedly stole a wallet from a car on Cleveland Street and a checkbook from another car on State Street.Young is charged with two counts each of theft from a vehicle and receiving stolen property, as well as criminal mischief and public drunkenness.
Tuesday — An unknown burglar during the day forced open the back door of a South Breezewood Drive home and stole a number of undisclosed items. Anyone who may have seen anything suspicion in the area Tuesday is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.
1:05 a.m. today — Daniel Neuburger, 32, of Fairview was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 8 near Unionville Road in Center Township.10:10 a.m. Wednesday — Three people were injured when a speeding car crashed on the Interstate 79 off ramp at Little Creek Road in Jackson Township.Police said the car, driven by Manuel Gomez, 24, of Pittsburgh, hit a cement culvert, became airborne and rolled over before landing in a field.Gomez and two passengers, Theodore Willis, 31, and a 16-year-old, both of Pittsburgh, were taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh for minor to moderate injuries. Police said Gomez faces undisclosed traffic violations.7:09 a.m. Wednesday — Cars driven by Matthew Cherry, 23, of Butler and Sean Schiebel, 39, of Cabot collided on Route 422 in Franklin Township. Cherry's car hit a cement barrier after the collision.Cherry suffered moderate injuries; Schiebel suffered minor injures. Police cited Cherry for careless driving and a lane violation.Wednesday — Ahandgun and several Xbox games were stolen between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. from the Sandy Hill Road home of Mike Clinebell in Clinton Township.Tuesday — Justin Herp, 28, of Butler was arrested for allegedly assaulting Kristen Graham, 24, of Butler at a Bennett Lane home in Connoquenessing Township. Herp is charged with simple assault and harassment.11:15 p.m. April 12 — Dennis MacDonald, 49, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after a minor traffic crash on Route 2002 near Osche Road in Summit Township.
