July 15 to 17 and 22 to 24 in the William A. SLIPPERY ROCK — The Old Stone House, managed by Slippery Rock University, will host four ghost hunting sessions.The Center for Paranormal Study and Investigation, a local, nonprofit organization will lead the 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. sessions Friday and Aug. 5, Sept. 2 and Oct. 7.Reservations, limited to 15 participants per session, are $10 and may be made by calling 724-738-4964.Participants will learn to use ghost-hunting equipment and will participate in the paranormal investigation.The Old Stone House is at the junction of Routes 8, 173 and 528.
PITTSBURGH — The EQT Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta will take place Saturday, Sunday and Monday at Point Park.The all-free 34th annual event features Sandsational building the largest sand sculpture in Pittsburgh, Circus Orange with pyrotechnics and aerial stunt performers, North American Powerboat Championships, and the “Flashes of Freedom” Fireworks Fantasia, produced by New Castle-based Pyrotecnico.In between, there's music, food, a kids' zone, dragon boats, bass fishing, bike stunt shows, and “Anything that Floats.”Hours are loosely noon to 9 p.m. each day. PITTSBURGH — The Alliance Française hosts Bastille Day, a celebration of the French national holiday, from 6 to 9 p.m. July 14. Festivities include food, art, entertainment and a silent auction.Food will feature French wines and a classic French strolling picnic supper at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts; a French dessert buffet follows dinner. Musical entertainment by the Steven Vance Trio will play through dinner.Parisian-trained mime performer, Mark Thompson, will also entertain guests throughout the evening along with caricature drawings.Cost is $75 per adult and $35 per child age 12 and younger.
