Mary E. Adamosky

Mary E. Adamosky of Muddy Creek Drive in Brady Township, Slippery Rock, passed away at 7 p.m. Saturday in New Castle.

She was born in Butler, Jan. 28, 1924, the daughter of the late Stephen and Ludvika Zahradnik Kovach.

She married Michael Adamosky on Oct. 18, 1945, and he died Oct. 25, 2000. They were married for 55 years.

She was a homemaker and an avid gardener, who with her husband owned and operated the Adamosky Poultry Farm in Brady Township. During World War II, she worked at Armco in the strip shears department, and she also worked at the Spaide Shirt Factory in Butler.

She was a member of the St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Slippery Rock, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers and the church choir.

She was a 4-H leader for 35 years with the Stone House Agriculture Club and the Muddy Creek Sewing and Cooking Club.

She is survived by two daughters and one son, Charlotte Bolinger and her husband, Kevin, of New Castle, Shirley Jones and her husband, Jack, of Slippery Rock and Denis Adamosky and his wife, Valerie, of Slippery Rock; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are two brothers, Albert Kovach of Herman and Dominic Kovach of New Jersey; and four sisters, Agnes Terbovich of Butler, Margaret Sheppeck of Renfrew, Pauline Maillet of Butler and Theresa Fowler of Pittsburgh.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Michael, Stephen, Martin and Edward; a grandson, Robert Jones; and a great-grandson, Corey Jones.

<B>ADAMOSKY</B> — Visitation for Mary E. Adamosky, who died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Smith Funeral Home, </B>421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Main Street, Slippery Rock, with Father Kevin Poeking, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will follow at the Slippery Rock Cemetery.
