Maurico F. 'Rick' 'Creekers' Rosellini

Maurico Rosellini

Maurico F. “Rick” “Creekers” Rosellini, 82, of Butler passed away Thursday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

Born in Butler, on Aug. 19, 1930, he was the son of the late Alfredo and Guiditta Rosellini.

He was the former manager of engineering at Pullman Standard, where he was employed for 25 years until the plant closed. He then was employed at James Diamond and Associates.

A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Navy. He served on the USS Joseph P. Kennedy Jr.

He spent his retirement years pursuing his love of horses as barn manager at Hortert Farms. He especially loved being surrounded by his family and friends. He enjoyed watching his grandkids playing sports and performing. He also loved going to his camp in East Brady.

He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and the Cubs ASA.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Sorokacs Rosellini, to whom he was married for 56 years; three sons, Richard J. Rosellini and his wife, Nikki, of State College, Jeffrey Rosellini and his wife, Elizabeth, of Boyers and Keith Rosellini of North Carolina; four daughters, Marcy McKitten and her husband, Timothy, of Butler, Linda Roth and her husband, Douglas, of Butler, Maria R. Fair and her husband, Thomas, of Renfrew and Tricia Ann Rosellini of Butler; and one sister, Mrs. Ann Lenzi, of Butler.

He also is survived by nine grandchildren, Dylan Roth and Skylar Roth of Butler, Noelle Rosellini and Zander Rosellini of State College, Lindsey Rosellini of Boyers, Jacob Fair and Jonathan Fair of Renfrew, Faith Taylor of Butler and Tonya McCorry of Georgia; five great-grandchildren, Alisha, Randy, Zach, Regan and Gage; numerous nieces and nephews; and many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Louis Rosellini; and one sister, Lena Koch.

ROSELLINI — Friends of Maurico F. “Rick” “Creekers” Rosellini, who passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, will be received at Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 429 Center Ave., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.Entombment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery Mausoleum.The Bereavement Group of St. Michael the Archangel Parish will meet at the funeral home at 3 p.m. Sunday for a scriptural wake service.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Autism Speaks, the VNA Inpatient Hospice or Allegheny Valley School, 1994 Ewing Mills Road, Coraopolis, PA 15108.Information also is available at www.martinfh.net.
