1:54 a.m. Wednesday - Richard Kern, 31, of 352 Dutchtown Road, Butler, was arrested for driving under the influence on Route 8 South.9:31 a.m. Tuesday - Two people were arrested on drug-related charges after a constable went to a West Jefferson Street apartment to serve a warrant on one of the suspects.Nicole Newkirk, 27, of 309 Virginia Ave. and Richard Seitz Jr., 27, of 313 Virginia Ave. were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Newkirk was also charged with possession of a controlled substance. Seitz was placed in Butler County Prison on the warrant issued out of Allegheny County.Tuesday - A sport utility vehicle driven by Wendy Lumley, 39, of 311 W. Pearl St. struck the rear of an SUV on Eau Claire Street. Lumley did not stop. The collision forced the parked SUV, owned by Keith Sibble of Eau Claire Street, into two other parked vehicles - a car owned by Holly Brannon of Eau Claire Street and a pickup truck owned by Sibble.

2:17 p.m. Wednesday - Eric Gargis, 18, of Pittsburgh lost control of his car after it had a flat tire on Interstate 79 in Lancaster Township. The car crashed into a guardrail.Wednesday - A leather purse containing about $4 was taken from a car on Lindsay Lane in Summit Township. The theft occurred between 9 p.m. Tuesday and 4:30 a.m. Wednesday. Jamie Johnson of Butler owns the purse.Wednesday - Several vehicles at homes on Saxonburg Road in Summit Township were broken into overnight and undisclosed property taken. No other information about the thefts was available this morning.Wednesday - A leather briefcase and checkbook were taken between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday at the Saxonburg Road home of Edward Etzel in Jefferson Township.Tuesday - A Taurus .38-caliber revolver, Passload framing gun, a pair of Senco nail guns, and about $50 were taken from a truck at the Deer Creek Road home of Arthur Biernesser III in Clinton Township. The theft occurred between Oct. 10 and Tuesday.

Tuesday - A 15-year-old Grove City boy was charged with the rape of a child, statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault. He was charged based on a June 26 incident with an 11-year-old boy.Oct. 17 - There was a report of an attempted burglary of a home in the 200 block of Harvard Street.Oct. 15 - Michael Hodges, 21, of 307 Poppy Lane, Slippery Rock was arrested on a warrant out of Butler courts for theft, receiving stolen property and forgery. He was turned over to the Butler County Sheriff's Department.Oct. 14 - A 1998 Dodge Dakota truck, belonging to Logan Bean of 157 Polk Rd., Fredonia, was hit in the parking lot of McDonald's on 200 W. Main St. The incident, which occurred at about 9 p.m., resulted in light damage to the tailgate and bumper.Oct. 14 - Wendy Beth Taylor, 39, of 201 Nicklin Rd., Grove City, was charged with disorderly conduct after she used loud, obscene language threatening another person on Oct. 7 at BiLo Market.Oct. 13 - Theft charges were filed against a 17-year-old Grove City boy for taking about $52 from Econo Cleaners on 232 Blair St.Oct. 13 - Police found a black team Murray bike on Broad Street. The owner can identify and claim it at the police department.
