Arc of Butler County withdraws bid for closed school building
The Arc of Butler County has withdrawn its bid for the closed Broad Street Elementary School after the Butler School Board on Thursday delayed voting on the sale until August.
John Link, executive director, said this morning that the Arc’s board wants to withdraw the bid for the property for $400,000.
“My board of directors is tired of waiting on this,” he said. “We’re going to pull our bid. We’re done messing around.”
Link said the directors are frustrated and upset, especially since the organization previously had a sales agreement for the school for $475,000 which was approved by the school board in November. However, the newly seated board overturned that decision in December.
“They can’t make up their mind,” Link said.
This recent delay only draws out an already lengthy sales process, he said.
