John and Fonda Snyder

John “Duke” and Fonda Snyder of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage with a family dinner at the Springfield Grill in Mars.

Snyder married the former Fonda Schrecengost on Aug. 14, 1971, at Salem United Church of Christ, Kittanning.

They have two children, Dana Snyder-Andres of Wytheville, Va., and David Snyder of Pittsburgh.

They also have two grandchildren.

Snyder retired from Armco/AK Steel after 35 years.

Mrs. Snyder retired as a secretary with the Slippery Rock Area School District.

The Snyders both enjoy spending time in Florida and social dancing.

The Snyders are members of the Presbyterian Church of Prospect.
