Cheer:

South Butler School District students will benefit from a generous gift from businessman Frank Raducz and his wife, Amy.

The couple will donate $10,000 worth of stone for use in building an outdoor classroom in the common area behind Knoch Middle School.

According to Todd O'Shell, a district spokesman, the classroom will be constructed in a semi-circle style similar to the appearance of an amphitheater. Full details of the classroom project have yet to be determined, including the target dates for starting and completing the construction.

Frank Raducz is the owner-operator of Raducz Stone Corp. on Route 8 South.

Units of government and school districts should always ensure that the word gets out about instances of generosity by the public or business enterprises. It is a welcome element of good news amid the excess of bad news with which the media must deal too consistently.
