State Police, ButlerSunday — A tan Yeti brand 65-quart cooler was stolen from the bed of a pickup truck in the parking area across from the Mercer Lime Co. in Slippery Rock Township. The cooler, valued at $400, has a silver anchor piece on the side.The theft happened between 8:50 p.m. Saturday and 5:30 a.m. Sunday.5:51 p.m. Saturday — Dominic A. Parenti, 28, of Harrisville was arrested after allegedly threatening 59-year-old Lynne A. Parenti with a gun during a domestic dispute at a home on South Main Street in Harrisville.Parenti was placed in the Butler County Prison on aggravated assault and other charges. The relationship between the defendant and victim was not indicated in a police news release.Wednesday — A 53-year-old Fairview Township woman was scammed out of several hundred dollars in a telephone ruse. The con man told the woman that her employer’s electricity would be turned off if she did not pay the bill with a “Reloadit” cash card. She complied and was taken for $500.Aug. 30 — A 1994 Layton Travel Trailer was stolen from RMS Inc. on East Butler Road in Summit Township. The 23-foot trailer, valued at $2,500, is white with pink and green stripes on the sides.There are no suspects in the theft that happened Aug. 29 or 30.Aug. 12 — An unknown identity thief used a Slippery Rock Township woman’s bank debit card number to make four fraudulent out-of-state purchases totaling $773.
State Police, Clarion11:10 p.m. Friday — A 20-year-old Templeton man, who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 28 near Town Run Road in Redbank Township. Police said they stopped him after he ran a stop sign.
State Police, Franklin4:09 a.m. Saturday — A 23-year-old Emlenton man was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his pickup truck crashed and overturned in Clinton Township, Venango County.The man, who was not identified, and his passenger, 21-year-old Jordan D. Ealey of Emlenton, were both taken to the Grove City Medical Center with unknown injuries.Police said the suspect lost control of the pickup on Kennerdell Road just west of Summit City Road, and struck a ditch and embankment. The truck ended on its roof. The Clinton Volunteer Fire Department assisted police at the sceneSaturday — A thief stole an all-terrain vehicle from the yard of a home on Slippery Rock Creek Road in Irwin Township. The 2011 Polaris ATV is described as orange and with a winch in front and stickers with the words “Limited Edition” on the side.Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call police at 814-676-6596.
State Police, KittanningSaturday — Joyce M. Anderson, 42, of Slippery Rock was arrested after she and two other woman allegedly teamed up to shoplift $150 in merchandise from the Walmart at Hilltop Plaza in East Franklin Township. Anderson was arraigned on a charge of retail theft and placed in the Armstrong County Jail on $1,000 bail.Police said they know the identities of Anderson’s two accomplices, who were not immediately arrested.2:39 p.m. Friday — Dominick A. Recupero, 24, of Kittanning was arrested after police say he stole medical items from the emergency room at ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township. He was arraigned on a charge of theft and placed in the Armstrong County Jail on $5,000 bail.Police said a woman, who they did not identify, is also a suspect in the theft that remains under investigation.
State Police, MercerMonday — Two handguns and a 42-inch television were stolen in a burglary at a home on Patterson School Road in Pine Township, Mercer County. The stolen guns include .357-caliber Ruger Blackhawk revolver and a .25-caliber Titan pistol.The break-in happened between 6:10 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. There are no suspects.Police noted that they are investigating numerous burglaries that have occurred on the eastern part of the county, and they remind residents to lock their homes and be on alert.9:45 a.m. Sunday — A motorcyclist was badly hurt in a two-vehicle crash in Worth Township, Mercer County.Robert W. Lesheski Jr., 54, of Hermitage, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to the Grove City Medical Center with a “major injury.”Police said the other driver, Lori A. Southworth, 49, of Cochranton traveled into the path of Lesheski’s 1983 Harley-Davidson Shovelhead cycle at Route 956 and McComb Road. Lesheski was thrown off the bike when it collided with Southworth’s car.Southworth was cited for a stop sign violation.7:33 a.m. Friday — Michelle James, 42, of Ellwood City lost control of her car and struck a tree along Interstate 79 in Plain Grove Township. She was cited for disregarding traffic lanes.Aug. 27 — A thief stole a 78-year-old Grove City woman’s grave site decoration at the Oakhill Cemetery in Sandy Lake Township. The decoration is a small statue of a firefighter holding a child. It was taken Aug. 26 or 27.
