Rep. Nesbit to hold firearms laws forum
CENTER TWP. — State Rep. Tedd Nesbit, R-8th, will have the second in a series of forums on the state’s firearms laws and the Castle Doctrine on May 20.
“At our first seminar last week in Grove City, more than 160 local residents participated and came away with lots of information regarding the intricacies of our state’s firearms laws,” Nesbit said in a news release.
“Our speakers cover the process for getting a concealed carry permit to situations in which the state’s relatively new Castle Doctrine could be applied.”
The event will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Unionville Fire Hall, 102 Mahood Road.
Speakers including Butler County Sheriff Michael Slupe and county District Attorney Richard Goldinger will discuss the state’s laws regarding firearms and how to safely interact with police when carrying a firearm. They also plan to talk about the self-defense aspects of the Castle Doctrine law.
Because seating is limited, participants must register with Nesbit’s office in advance.
They can do so by calling the Grove City district office at 724-458-4911 or signing up online at www.RepNesbit.com.
