Margaret Elizabeth "Betty" Brown, 81, of Sandy Hollow, Friar Point Road, Rimersburg, died Friday at Butler Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

Born March 31, 1923, in East Brady, she was the daughter of Sebastian B. and Barbara Lehner Jordan.

She was a member of the St. Eusebius Roman Catholic Church in East Brady, and a graduate of East Brady High School in 1941.

She had been employed at Watson Dry Cleaners in Clarion and at Eccles Nursery in Rimersburg. She enjoyed playing cards and reading.

Surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Robert L. and Barbara J. McCullough, and Eugene C. and Sandra L. Simpson, all of Rimersburg; three sons, Robert and

Pamala

M. Brown of Rimersburg, Dennis J. Brown of East Brady, and Eugene J. and Sheryl K. Brown of Butler; a sister, Marie Greenawalt of East Brady; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin LaVone Brown, whom she married July 26, 1941, and who died Aug. 11, 1988; her parents; two brothers, Russell Jordan and Gene Jordan; five sisters, Nelle DeCorte, Amy Crowley, Amy Monaca, Sarah Crispen, and Dorothy Brothers; and two great-grandchildren, Edward Robert Barger and Courtney Dawn Barger.

<B>BROWN</B> - Friends of Margaret Elizabeth "Betty" Brown, who died Friday, Jan. 14, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the RICHARD D. HILLIS FUNERAL HOME, 758 Main St., Rimersburg. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Eusebius R. C. Church, East Brady, with the Rev. Anthony Ditto as celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Eusebius Cemetery.
