BUTLER TWP — A 63-year-old township man is accused of inappropriately touching two young children and attempting to fondle a third child.

Butler Township police Thursday charged Paul Raymond Miller with 15 criminal counts in connection with their investigation. Police said they learned of the allegations in March.

Two of the children during forensic interviews recounted the defendant touched their private parts on at least two occasions while they were at his home, according to court documents.

One of those children told investigators the abuse happened within the past year and the other claimed it happened about one year ago.

A third child in an interview accused Miller of trying to touch her once sometime in the past year or two, documents said. She told him to stop and he did. Police said the defendant denied all the allegations April 26 when he appeared with his attorney at the station for an interview.

Miller is charged with three counts of corruption of minors and two counts each of child endangerment and indecent assault of a person less than 13 years old, all felonies.

Additionally, he is charged with a list of misdemeanors including child endangerment, attempted indecent assault of a person less than 13 years old, and two counts each of indecent assault without consent, indecent assault of a person less than 16, and attempted indecent assault.

The defendant is expected to turn himself in for arraignment Monday at the office of District Judge Kevin O'Donnell

Miller's attorney, John Haller, was out of his office Thursday and unavailable for comment.
