ALIQUIPPA— Ryan Prokay of Grove City carded a 6-over-par 150 Tuesday to win the West Penn Junior Golf Championship at Shadow Lakes Country Club.
Prokay won the title by one stroke over Matt Vogt of Cranberry Township.

PENN TWP— St. Barnabas Charities netted $107,079 at its annual golf tournament June 2 at Butler Country Club.The total is the highest in the tournament's 21 years and benefits the patients at St. Barnabas Nursing Home, Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas and The Arbors at St. Barnabas.
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Plaxico Burress isn't going to practice with the New York Giants until the Super Bowl champions give him a new contract.Burress reported to the Giants' mandatory minicamp Wednesday but refused to work out because he wasn't happy with the way contract negotiations are progressing between the team and agent Drew Rosenhaus.Coach Tom Coughlin had indicated after practice that Burress did not work out because of a knee injury, but the receiver said he was healthy.
CONCORD, N.C. — One of NASCAR's most storied race teams gave up majority control Wednesday when a private equity firm took over Petty Enterprises. Although Richard Petty says he'll still have a large day-to-day role with the team his family has run since 1949, Boston Ventures now maintains control of the 60-year-old operation and the Richard Petty Driving Experience.Barry Baker, managing director of Boston Ventures, becomes Petty's new chairman, and David Zucker takes over as CEO. Zucker most recently ran Midway Games, a Chicago-based producer of video games.Neither side would reveal the percentage of the organization that Boston Ventures now controls.
