6:48 p.m. Saturday — Vehicles driven by Henry Altman, 81, of New Castle and Margaret Meyer, 50, of Ellwood City, Lawrence County, collided on Route 422 at Moraine Pointe Plaza.Altman and Patricia Moore, 74, of Portersville, a passenger in his vehicle, were treated for minor injuries at Butler Memorial Hospital; neither was wearing a seat belt. Meyer suffered a minor injury but did not seek medical treatment.Police noted the crash closed the intersection for a short time.Friday — Vehicles driven by Michael Rupert, 25, of Freeport and Jessica Afanasenko, 19, of Butler collided onRoute 422 at Moraine Pointe Plaza.Afanasenko and Wendy Cummings, 39, of Butler, a passenger in her vehicle, were flown by medical helicopters with unknown injuries to Pittsburgh hospitals; their conditions were not known this morning. Police said neither woman was wearing a seat belt.Rupert and a juvenile passenger, who police did not identify, were treated for minor injuries at Butler Memorial Hospital. Police noted the crash closed the intersection for a short time.
7:55 p.m. Monday — Earl Franklin, 26, no address given was arrested for allegedly pushing Misty Peterson, 25, no address given, into a lawn mower during an altercation at a West Prairie Street home in Harrisville.Police said Franklin also grabbed Peterson by the neck and threw her to the ground. He is charged with simple assault.4:04 p.m. Monday — Robert Williams, 26, of Allison Park, Allegheny County, was arrested driving a stolen car on Interstate 79 in Worth Township. Williams also faces charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance.Police noted the car, owned by Jane Ann Hammond of Pittsburgh, was stolen from McCandless Township, Allegheny County.4:09 a.m. Monday — Thomas Ronan, 21, of New Castle was arrested for DUI at the Sheetz parking lot on Main Street in Slippery Rock.12:35 a.m. Monday — An unknown vandal driving a white, full-sized pickup truck drove through the front yard at the Venango Lane home of Brenda Davis in Connoquenessing Township. The truck made circles in the lawn before driving away. Damage was estimated at $150.12:04 a.m. Monday — A stray bullet from a small caliber handgun fired into the air pierced the roof of a Ralston Road mobile home owned by Larry Tomko in Slippery Rock Township. No one was hurt. Police do not know who fired the gun.Monday — Ablue, white and gray, 20-inch Mongoose BMX-style bicycle was stolen between 2:30 and 8 a.m. from a home at the Landmark Trailer Court in Chicora. The bike is valued at $120.Monday — Joseph Kelly of Boyers said someone stole aRuger P95 pistol valued at $300 from his unlocked car between 7 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. Monday. Kelly said the 9mm handgun could have been taken while the car was at a Wal-Mart in New Castle, a Burger King in Barkeyville, Venango County, or at his home on Kelly Road in Venango Township.Monday — Items were taken over the holiday weekend from two vehicles at homes on North Washington Road in Washington Township.Matthew Campbell said adiaper bag, cell phone, two cell phone chargers and a green toy tractor were taken between 12:01 a.m. and noon from his unlocked Ford Explorer. The property is valued at $185.William Hazlet of Petrolia, meanwhile, said a Traditions .50-caliber muzzleloader and cell phone were taken between 5:30 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday from his pickup truck.12:12 a.m. Sunday — Walter Melik, 34, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of DUI at West Jefferson and Chestnut streets in Butler.Sunday — Assorted tools, including drills and a circular saw, were stolen between 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday in a burglary at a home under construction on Chicora-Fenelton Road in Donegal Township. Karri Ann Hilliards of Chicora and Michael Finucan of Butler own the stolen property.Sunday — An antique cash register, 19 quarts of motor oil and two dozen cartons of cigarettes were taken Saturday or Sunday in a burglary at Sybert's Garage on West Sunbury Road in Clay Township.Dec. 24 — An unknown driver drove through several shrubs and over the lawn at the Medical Center Road home of Joyce Zanella in Donegal Township.
10:06 p.m. Friday — Daniel Scott Anthony, 35, of Kittanning was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 28 about 2 miles south of Route 422 in North Buffalo Township, Armstrong County.2:35 a.m. Dec. 25 — Lindsay Bly, 23, of Karns City was arrested for suspicion of DUI after her car crashed into a guardrail on Route 68 in Bradys Bend Township, Armstrong County, sending the vehicle across both lanes and into another guardrail.Bly's vehicle spun back onto the road and was hit by a car driven by Courtney Hebets, 21, of Butler. Bly, who was not wearing a seat beat, was treated for a minor injury at ACMH Hospital Hospital in Kittanning.12:30 a.m. Dec. 24 — Candace Kulesa, 22, was arrested for allegedly cutting Ryan Smith, 22, both of Sevierville, Tenn., with a knife during a domestic dispute in a pickup truck on Route 28 near the Buffalo Bridge in South Buffalo Township, Armstrong County.Smith suffered a neck wound and was treated at ACMH HospitalHospital in Kittanning before being transferred to Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.Kulesa was arraigned on charges of simple assault and reckless endangerment, and placed in the Armstrong County Jail on $5,000 bond.6 p.m. Dec. 23 — Vehicles driven by Naomi Deemer, 73, and Terry Bowser, 47, both of Sarver, collided at Route 128 and Church Road in North Buffalo Township, Armstrong County. Deemer, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.6:45 p.m. Dec. 22 — Cars driven by David McClaine, 49, of Kittanning and Laura Frazer, 25, of Karns City collided at Route 422 and Bear Street in Worthington, Armstrong County. Frazer, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.
Monday — Police reportedly arrested two Forest County men on drug-related charges stemming from a Nov. 30 traffic stop on Interstate 80 in Wolf Creek Township, Mercer County.Jeremy Beichner, 23, and Ryan Bouquin, 28, both of Tionesta, are charged with possession of a controlled substance. Additionally, Beichner is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.Police said they found both men with OxyContin. Beichner also had cocaine, marijuana, methadone and drug paraphernalia.10:30 p.m. Sunday — A pickup truck driven by Ali Al-Zayadi, 39, of Pittsburgh crashed into a creek along Interstate 79 in SpringfieldTownship, Mercer County. Al-Zayadi walked away, leaving his pickup submerged in the creek.Police said they found Al-Zayadi the next day and cited him for careless driving, driving with a suspended license, failure to immediately notify police of an accident and driving without insurance.2:45 a.m. Sunday — Edward Hile, 43, of Mercer was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at Route 208 and Old Ash Road in Springfield Township, Mercer County.
