3:31 p.m. Friday — Colby Mathews, 20, of Valencia was charged with failure to obey traffic control devices after he crashed into the side of a car driven by Marlene Folk, 65, of Tionesta at the intersection of Hansen Avenue and Pillow Street.6:39 p.m. Thursday — Brenda L. Keith, 48, of Butler was charged with careless driving after she crashed her car into a parked vehicle on North Elm Street. Two witnesses saw Keith speeding up the street before swerving and striking a parked Chevrolet Trail Blazer owned by Charles S. Nulph of Butler. Keith told police she crashed because she was temporarily distracted.
4:11 a.m. Friday — The Butler Township Fire District 3 responded to a structure fire at 105 Bradmoor Lane.A small fire in the basement of the home was extinguished. It appeared to be electrical in nature.The home had some smoke damage, and the owners were able to escape without harm.2:22 p.m. June 30 — James P. Doctor, 48, of Lyndora, was charged with DUI and careless driving after police investigated an incident in which he drove his car in a flooded road and got stuck in the ditch at the intersection of North Boundary Street and South Duffy Road.
5:36 p.m. Friday — A person was flown by medical helicopter to a hospital following a traffic accident in the eastbound lanes of Route 422 in Clearfield Township.State police, the Herman and Chicora volunteer fire departments, East Butler EMS and Butler Ambulance responded to the accident.The scene was cleared at 6:59 p.m.No other information was available Saturday morning.
8 a.m. Thursday — Two people suffered minor injuries following a crash on Route 422 in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.Robert C. Swartwout, 20, of Renfrew failed to stop for a turning vehicle and crashed his car into the back of a car driven by Tyler P. Harbison, 20, of Renfrew.The impact caused Harbison's vehicle to hit the back of a car driven by Justin K. Onder, 29, of Turtle Creek.Swartwout and Harbison were treated for minor injuries. All three drivers were wearing seat belts.Swartwout was charged with driving too closely to another vehicle.
7:49 p.m. Thursday — An unknown white man was found in an apartment on College Avenue when the renter of the apartment returned home. The apartment is home to Crystal Gonzalez, 33. The man fled the apartment on foot and headed west on the avenue.
