BUTLER TWP — Mackenzie Craig scored 34 points and grabbed 20 rebounds, but the Butler County Community College women’s basketball team dropped an 83-67 decision to the Point Park JVs Monday night.

Lydia Roth had 11 points and 11 assists, Carly Burdett 17 points for the Pioneers (1-8). BC3 hosts Garrett Community College in a women’s-men’s doubleheader at 1 p.m. Saturday.

[naviga:h3]SRU’s Mack named All-American[/naviga:h3]

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University field hockey senior Kayla Mack has been named to the Synapse Sports All-America team.

Mack recorded four assists and nine shots on goal to go with a team-bet six defensive saves this season. SRU finished 10-9 on the year.

[naviga:h3]Rock’s Hess, Till net PSAC honors[/naviga:h3]

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University freshman indoor track sprinter Reagan Hess and sophomore men’s basketball player Micah Till have been named PSAC Athletes of the Week in their respective sports.

Hess broke the SRU record in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.70 seconds at Youngstown State. She also posted the second-best mark in the PSAC in the long jump at 5.54 meters.

Till had two double-doubles in Rock wins over Lock Haven and Bloomsburg. He scored 32 points and grabbed 14 rebounds against Bloomsburg, 18 points and 13 rebounds against Lock Haven.

[naviga:h3]GCC goalie Winters gets academic honors[/naviga:h3]

GROVE CITY — Grove City College senior women’s soccer goalkeeper Trishae Winters has been named Division III Academic All-American.

Winters carries a 3.96 grade point average and is majoring in biology. She was 17-6 with a 0.76 goals-against average this season. Winters’ 34 career wins are tied for most in program history and her 16 career shutouts are a school record.
