Murel Burrows of Butler, will celebrate his 90th birthday with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Zion United Methodist Church in Sarver.

He was born March 28, 1914, in California. Burrows married the former Marie Sasse on April 24, 1937. She is now deceased.

Burrows has six children, Pat Bicker and Murel "Sonny" Burrows, both of Sarver, Dolores Burrows of Worthington, Paul "Dude" Burrows of Cabot and Geraldine "Deanie" Vasbinder and John Burrows, both of Butler. He also has 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was employed at Penn Dixie Cement in West Winfield for 41 years.

Burrows enjoys reading, playing cards and traveling. He is an active member of Zion United Methodist Church.
