June Schwietering

June E. Schwietering, 87, of South Buffalo Township, Armstrong County, passed away at 3:55 a.m. Wednesday while in the company of family members at Fair Winds Manor, Sarver.

June was born in Josephine, Indiana County, June 2, 1923, the daughter of the late Elmer and Vera (Dalstrom) Goughenour.

She was the widow of Earl R. Schwietering, who passed away in 2000.

She was a cook at Freeport High School for many years.

She was a member of the Srader Grove United Presbyterian in South Buffalo Township.

June was a past troop leader with the Girl Scouts. She enjoyed craft work, sewing and being with her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda (Thomas) Windows of South Buffalo Township and Brenda (Art) Hackett of Wyomissing, Berks County; two sisters, Betty (John) Rassau of Natrona Heights and Pat Shaw of Franklin; two grandchildren, Michael (Sara) Windows and Jodi (Jeff) Bichsel; and two great-grandchildren, Emma and Hannah Windows.

She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Sam and Elwood Goughenour; and two sisters, Ellen Soloman and Lucile Sarver.

<B>SCHWIETERING</B> — Family and friends of June E. Schwietering, who died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, are being received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the <B>Redmond Funeral Home</B>, 524 High St. in Freeport. A funeral service will be in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Saturday with lay pastor, Robert Hindman, officiating.
