Motorcyclist injured on Route 422 has died

A Prospect man who suffered injuries after a two-vehicle accident Friday evening has died.

Robert Pollock Jr., 45, was driving a motorcycle on Route 422 West when Katrina Book, 34, of Butler, was trying to turn left into the parking lot of Michael’s Restaurant at 970 New Castle Road.

Book’s Chevrolet Aveo collided with Pollock, throwing him roughly 50 feet from his motorcycle, according to state police in Butler.

Pollock had facial, pelvic and internal injuries and was taken be helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Book, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffering minor injuries to the wrist and knee. She was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital.

Police did not release if Pollock had a helmet on.
