11:49 p.m. Tuesday — Kenneth Dale Wise, 32, is accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Chassidie McCormick, 25, of Butler during a domestic dispute at his Thomas Avenue home.Wise is charged with simple assault, as well as indirect criminal contempt for violating a protection from abuse order.A police report noted that McCormick has a PFA against Wise, but that the woman acknowledged she went to the defendant's home "because she had nowhere else to go (that) night."8:53 p.m. Sunday — Kimberly Jo Cousins, 44, of Clay Township was arrested for driving under the influence on North Monroe Street.Cousins, police said, also was cited for driving with a suspended license, driving without registration and without insurance, driving on the wrong side of the road, disobeying a traffic control device, and an open container violation.
1:28 p.m. Monday — Two students at Butler Senior High School face drug-related charges after school officials found a prescription pill hidden in a shoe in one of the students.Police suspect both students were involved in bringing the pill, clonazepam, into the school. Clonazepam is the generic name for Klonopin, a sedative.
6:12 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Rachel Kresge, 23, of Allison Park struck a deer on East Portersville Road in Muddy Creek Township.2:30 a.m. Wednesday — Christine M. Bellis, 24, of East Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after her car crashed over an embankment on Valvoline Road in East Butler.2:05 p.m. Friday — A tractor-trailer driven by James Kastor, 64, of Plainwell, Mich., struck an embankment and guardrail after it jackknifed on Route 268 in Hovey Township, Armstrong County. Police said Kastor was cited for an undisclosed traffic violation.6:58 a.m. Friday — A car driven by Larry Madden, 62, of Butler struck a tree along slush-covered Route 38 in Concord Township. Police said Madden was cited for an undisclosed traffic violation.7 a.m. Jan. 31 — An unknown driver of an unidentified white Chrysler car struck a fence along Route 528 in Connoquenessing Township, and did not stop following the crash.
5:25 p.m. Wednesday — Scot C. Wallace, 50, of Prospect was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his pickup truck crashed over an embankment and rolled several times along Old Route 8 in Victory Township.
