RELIGIOUS ROUNDUP

BETHEL UNITED PRESBY

The Lord's Supper will be celebrated at the 11 a.m. Sunday service at Bethel United Presbyterian Church, Routes 8 and 108, Slippery Rock.

CHRIST COMMUNITY U.M.

The Sacrament of Holy Communion will be observed at the 6:30 p.m. Saturday and 8:30 and 10 a.m. Sunday services at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road. Heroes of spirit and freedom will also be recognized during the weekend services.

The Rev. Kathy Mikesell will lead worship and Communion on Wednesday at Sunnyview Nursing Home. Members who plan to perform with the Summer Sunnyview Singers should arrive by 10:15 a.m.

Members of the mission work team who plan to travel to Virginia should contact Evie Kennedy by Monday. An informational meeting for participants will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

CHRIST'S OUTREACH

A celebration of freedom service will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday at Christ's Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave. This will be the only service held on Sunday. Beth and Lyric Ackelson will provide music for the service.

A fellowship time will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday at the church. Coffee and donuts will be provided.

The adult Bible study group will begin a study of the Gospel of John at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the sanctuary.

The meeting time for the college and career club has changed to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

COVENANT PRESBY

The Rev. James Swanson will lead his first worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St. He will be installed as pastor at 4 p.m. Aug 1.

The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper will be celebrated and Lesa Reed will provide music during the 10 a.m. Sunday service.

During July, the Covenant Cupboard Food Bank is requesting donations of cereal. Donation baskets are in the front entrance hallway.

FIRST BAPTIST

The service schedule at First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., this Sunday begins with Sunday school at 9:45 a.m., followed by the morning service. The adult choir will provide patriotic musical selections. A picnic luncheon will follow at noon in the parking lot. There will be no evening service.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

The youth group of First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., will do a servant event Tuesday through July 9 at Trinity North Side day camp in Pittsburgh.

GLADE RUN U.P.

Communion will be celebrated at the 8:45 and 11 a.m. Sunday services at Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia.

The church office will be closed Monday.

Volleyball, for all ages, will be held Wednesdays beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The Adult Short Term Mission Team will be going to Southern West Virginia to work with the West Virginia Ministry of Advocacy and Works Camps. For information, call 724-779-9792.

GRACE LUTHERAN

A Summerfest celebration will be held for members of Grace Lutheran Church, 220-226 New Castle St., from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Lutherlyn.

NEW LIFE CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES

The Lord's Supper will be celebrated at the 10 a.m. Sunday service at New Life Christian Ministries, Knoch School Auditorium, 345 Knoch Road, Saxonburg. Each family attending the service will receive an American flag.

There will be no Kid's Community in July.

Registration is due Sunday for Class 101 - Journey to Discipleship, which will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at The Bridge.

NORTH MAIN STREET CHURCH OF GOD

The women of North Main Street Church of God, 1201 N. Main St. Ext., will meet for a picnic at 6 p.m. today in fellowship hall 2. Participants should take a covered dish to share.

The church office will be closed Monday in observance of Independence Day.

The board of directors meeting has been changed to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the conference room.

60 Plus or Minus will hold a concert on the lawn at 7 p.m. July 8 featuring the Deahl family. The event is open to all church members. Participants should take lawn chairs. Refreshments will be provided.

OLD UNION PRESBY

The golf outing of Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, has been rescheduled for July 17. To volunteer or to sign up a foursome, contact Bill McCandless.

SLIPPERY ROCK U.M.

Communion will be served at both Sunday services at Slippery Rock United Methodist, Franklin and Maple streets.

Dean Wells and Gary Wakefield will present a patriotic skit at the 9 a.m. Sunday service and Tracy Hust will provide music at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service.

Food for the Feed My Sheep food cupboard will also be collected at the weekend services.

ST. MARK LUTHERAN

Communion will be served at both Sunday services at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St.

Blood pressure screening will be available before the Saturday service and between the two Sunday services.

ST. PETER'S EPISCOPAL

Holy Communion will be observed at the 8:15 and 9:30 a.m. services at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 218 E. Jefferson St.

The church office will be closed Monday.

A fellowship meal will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Holy Communion with healing prayers will follow at 6:15 p.m.

ST. RICHARD R.C.

The high school youth of St. Richard Roman Catholic Church, 3841 Dickey Road, Gibsonia, will attend Catholic Youth Day at Kennywood Park on Tuesday.

ST. THOMAS

St. Thomas Church in-the-Fields, Route 8 at Dickey Road, Gibsonia, will hold outdoor Bible study throughout the summer. Sessions begin at 6 p.m. Wednesdays with a cookout in the parish pavilion. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided.

TRINITY PRESBY

The retired Rev. William Jamieson will be the guest minister at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 107 Staley Ave., Sunday. The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper will be celebrated during the Sunday service.

The Ruth Circle will meet at Dingbats Restaurant at 11 a.m. Monday. Car pool participants should meet at 10:45 a.m. at the church.

Roadway cables have been reinstalled to reduce traffic on the church drive. Visitors are advised to use the Staley Avenue entrance during normal office hours. The cables will be removed for services or other church-related programs.

The food item for the Covenant Food Cupboard for July is spaghetti or spaghetti sauce. Items may be placed in the designated box in the narthex.
