NORTH CANTON, Ohio — Sophomore guard Daeja Quick came off the bench to score 23 points, collect six assists and six steals Wednesday, but the Slippery Rock University women’s basketball team dropped a 93-73 decision at Walsh.

Senior forward Morgan Henderson scored 15 points for The Rock (12-3) while Ciara Patterson netted 11.

SRU plays Wayne State in the Ashland Thanksgiving Classic at 1 p.m. Saturday, then faces No. 2 Ashland at 3 p.m. Sunday.

GROVE CITY — Slippery Rock High School graduate and Grove City College sophomore center Sedona Campbell scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the Wolverines’ 73-42 women’s basketball win over Medaille Wednesday.

Grove City is 3-2 on the season.

PITTSBURGH — Senecva Valley graduate and senior libero Angela Seman had a team-high eight digs Wednesday in No. 10 Pitt’s 3-0 win over Georgia Tech Wednesday.

The Panthers (29-1, 17-1) completed the third unbeaten home regular season in program history. Pitt will learn its NCAA playoff seeding Sunday night.

[naviga:h3]9 SR gridders get region all-star berths[/naviga:h3]

ERIE — Nine Slippery Rock High School football players have earned berths on the District 10, Region 5 all-star team.

Seniors Kaleb Kamerer (all-purpose) and Sean Northcott (lineman) made first team offense, senior defensive lineman Mitchell Houston and defensive back Kamerer first team defense.

Senior receiver Patrick Shea, lineman Houston, juniors Vito Pilosi (quarterback) and David Duffalo (running back) made second team offense. Senior kicker Nathaniel Willison made second team on special teams.

Making second team defense were lineman Northcott, linebackers Jacob Shaffer and Duffalo, and defensive back Shea.
