Giving Day set May 6
In its first Day of Giving, Butler County will have 27 organizations participating in the event, and the Endowment for Butler County, a fund of the Pittsburgh Foundation, has provided a match pool of more than $10,000 for these county-based nonprofits.
The Pittsburgh Foundation will host its sixth annual Day of Giving on May 6 to coincide with Give Local America, a national event to encourage and inspire local giving.
From 6 a.m. until midnight, The Pittsburgh Foundation will match 100 percent of any donation from $25 to $1,000 given to the more than 700 of public 501c3 nonprofit organizations that serve Allegheny, Butler or Westmoreland counties that have profiles on the Pittsburgh Gives website.
Donations to Butler County groups will be matched until a total of $10,000 is given countywide.
For information on how to donate and for a complete list of eligible nonprofits, visit pittsburghgives.org.
