Late-night knocker arrested

Jacob A. Plottel

CRANBERRY TWP — A Georgia man is facing charges after allegedly knocking on doors in a township neighborhood in the early morning hours Thursday.

Jacob A. Plottel, 23, of Ringgold, Ga., faces misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia for the incident. According to court documents, officers responded to Rolling Road and Cameron Drive in the township at 1:32 a.m. Thursday, for a report of an intoxicated male knocking on doors and asking for directions.

The subject, identified as Plottel, was located on Greenwood Drive, and allegedly smelled of alcohol. The complaint states he had glassy eyes and was unsteady on his feet, and an assisting officer shining a flashlight on Plottel’s belt line allegedly found a glass pipe.

A further search allegedly found a small orange container with marijuana inside. A second container was also found, and also contained marijuana, police said.

Officers interviewed an individual who said Plottel knocked on his door to ask for directions to Joan Street in the township. He said Plottel left before returning a short time later to knock again, before being waved away.

Plottel was arraigned Thursday morning by district judge David Kovach, and according to court documents was unable to post an unspecified bail.

A July 27 preliminary hearing is scheduled.
