Officials from the state, county and township gathered at the new FedEx distribution center in Jackson Township for the center's grand opening.

The 305,000-square-foot center employs about 400 people according to a company release. Previous reports stated about 230 jobs were to be filled.

“We are confident we will be able to create opportunities and it is our expectation that the local community is willing to go along with us,” FedEx Ground president and CEO Henry Maier said today.
