Senators pushing for home delivery in SNAP program
Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa., is among 28 senators from both parties urging the federal government to expand food stamp programs to home deliver for the duration of the coronavirus pandemic.
In a letter, the senators asked the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture to allow recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program to get their food through home deliveries or curbside pickup.
SNAP is a federal program that supplements the food budgets of needy families.
