Harmony Business Association's 16th annual Thursday evening concert series begins at 8 p.m. today with the Kardaz band performing classics from the 1950s, '60s and '70s in front of the Harmony Inn on Mercer Street. Concerts to Munch By, hosted by the Butler County Symphony Association, will feature the contemporary acoustic music of Karma Acoustic from 12:15 until 12:45 p.m. Wednesday in the symphony office building, 259 S. Main St. The series continues Wednesdays through Aug. 17. Each week a musician or group of musicians perform a free half-hour concert. The free Family Summer Concert Series at Alameda Park, hosted by the Butler County Parks and Recreation Department, offers music at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays in the Carousel Shelter. Performing Tuesday will be the Greater Cranberry Barbershop Chorus featuring the Sharp Edge quartet. Call 724-284-5383.
Musicians' Concert Band is performing at a new site this summer: the Butler Intermediate High School auditorium. The previous concert site, Miller Auditorium at Slippery Rock University, is under construction. Concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. today as well as July 7 and 21 and Aug. 4. Admission is $3. Centre City Summer Jam features free performances by local bands from 6 to 10:30 p.m. July 15 and Aug. 19 in downtown Butler. Two bands will perform each night and include The Way Back Home Band, Moonshine, Moon Drag and Full Circle. In addition to live music, there also will be a downtown marketplace with food, beverages and merchandise along with raffles and prizes. The Centre City Summer Jam events are free.
