A one-car accident on Freshcorn Road in Cranberry Township, just north of the Cranberry Highlands Golf Course, took place around 3:30 p.m. Thursday. One occupant was transported to Allegheny General Hospital. Traffic was restricted to one lane briefly.

CRANBERRY TWP — A one-car crash Thursday afternoon sent one man to the hospital and backed up traffic on Freshcorn Road for less than an hour.

A black Jeep SUV collided with a guardrail just north of the Cranberry Highlands Golf Course around 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Tire marks at the scene indicated the vehicle was traveling south, but collided with the guard rail on the east side of the road, coming to rest facing east on the northbound side of the roadway.

One occupant of the SUV, a male, was transported to Allegheny General Hospital with unknown injuries, Cranberry police said.

The vehicle suffered damage to the front end, with a damaged fender and hood, a cracked windshield and the front right tire separated from the wheel.

As a result of the collision, traffic was limited to one lane. The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
