3:56 p.m. Sunday - Joseph Gibson, 19, of 113 Linsdale Road was arrested on an active bench warrant and is in Butler County Prison.5:17 p.m. Saturday - James Bell, 66, of 315 N. Monroe St. lost control of his vehicle on East New Castle Street when the brakes failed and struck a parking meter.1:30 a.m. Saturday - Sean Farmer, 26, of Lyndora lost control of his vehicle and struck a guide rail on Bessemer Avenue.2:41 p.m. Friday - A truck driven by John Grzysiewicz, 62, of Shirley, Mass., pulled down the electrical wire to 307 E. Jefferson St. Police closed the street and the driver stayed in the truck cab until the power was turned off and the wire removed. Allegheny Power repaired the wire.10:52 p.m. Thursday - Two people were injured in a one-vehicle accident on Route 8.Ian Evans, 30, of Buena Vista was driving a car in which Raymond Vitori II, no age or address given, was a passenger. Evans crashed the vehicle in front of the Butler Tires For Less.City police found Vitori with a serious facial injury and found Evans with a four-inch cut on his forehead and smelled of alcohol.Evans was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital where he was charged with driving under the influence, aggravated assault while driving under the influence and reckless operation of a vehicle.Vitori was flown to Allegheny General Hospital where his condition was unknown Monday morning.
8 p.m. Sunday - Cathy Oesterling, no age given, of 111 Orchard Lane in Center Township told police someone stole a Makarov 9x18 mm handgun from her vehicle.12:45 a.m. Sunday - Eric Smith, 18, of Butler lost control of his vehicle on Lions Road in Center Township and struck a tree.7:30 p.m. Saturday - Stefan Medura, 19, of Slippery Rock reported someone stole a Panasonic CD player and Audiobahn amplifier from his vehicle while it was parked in a private driveway on West Cooper Street. Total value of the items stolen is $600.4:10 p.m. Friday - A vehicle driven by Corey Plunkard, 18, of Karns City struck a vehicle driven by Jennifer Curry, 39, of Gibsonia while Curry was stopped for a school bus on Saxonburg Boulevard in Clinton Township. Plunkard was cited for speeding.9:09 p.m. Friday - Vehicles driven by Alison Kocan, 39, of Perkasie, Bucks County, and Sarah Selfridge, 22, of 429 Wayne St. collided on Route 422 in Muddy Creek Township. Selfridge, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries and released.6 p.m. Friday - A six-foot red, white and blue flag and wood pole was stolen from Bee Four Collectibles in Harmony.11:30 a.m. Friday - Linda Stewart, 53, of Slippery Rock reported someone stole a red 1985 Honda dirt bike from the front porch of her residence in the Peter Rabbit trailer court in Brady Township.7 a.m. Friday - Someone stole $30 in change from the Coca Cola vending machine outside the Field House Restaurant at 911 N. Pike Road in Jefferson Township.7:04 p.m. Thursday - Terry Ridley, no age given, of Bruin reported someone entered his garage and his vehicle and took currency and other items.6:30 p.m. Thursday - William Henry Hess Jr., 17, of Slippery Rock was reported as a runaway. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a white T-shirt and brown suede tennis shoes. Hess is 5 foot, 6 inches tall; 130 pounds with short brown hair and blue eyes. If seen contact state police at 724-284-8100.2:40 p.m. Thursday - Corie Bick, 23, of Freeport reported someone stole a cell phone while she was shopping at Clearview Mall in Center Township.Oct. 30 - Nathan Sawyer, 18, of Portersville told police he was scammed over the Internet and lost an undetermined amount of money.4 p.m. Oct. 15 - Three juveniles stole about 70,000 sports cards valued at an estimated $5,000 from James Kramer of Kramer Lane in Summit Township. Police recovered the cards from the juveniles and charges are pending against them.
12:07 p.m. Saturday - Vehicles driven by Janet Kunczt, 54, of Hermitage; Elra Hinds, 80, and Barbara Maxwell, 55, both of Grove City collided on George Junior Road in Pine Township. All three drivers were wearing seatbelts and no one was injured.12:45 a.m. Friday - Jason Bennett, 31, of the Grove City Police Department lost control of his police car when the brakes failed and struck a tree on Greenwood Drive in Grove City. Bennett, who was wearing a seatbelt, was taken to United Community Hospital where he was treated for a minor injury and released.2 a.m. Nov. 13 - Nathaniel Shirey, 25, of Grove City was charged with driving under the influence following a traffic stop on Route 208 in Springfield Township.1:27 p.m. Oct. 26 - Calvin Woodard, 49, of Cleveland was arrested on a warrant from the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Department during a traffic stop on Interstate 80 in Wolf Creek Township.
Sunday - Larry Kaster, 51, of Emlenton was charged with three counts of aggravated assault after he tried to run over three people with his vehicle and threatened them with a loaded .22-caliber rifle.Kaster evicted David Botelho, 39, of Knox a few weeks ago from the residence he rented at 103 Burns Camp Road in Licking Township. Botelho returned with Joshua Blum, 20, of Knox and a 15-year-old juvenile to retrieve some of his belongings when Kaster threatened them. The victims disarmed Kaster and detained him until state police arrived. Kaster was arraigned and is in prison on $25,000 straight cash bond.
