The Butler County Commissioners on Wednesday:

Approved the purchase of a heavy-duty pickup truck to pull the new mobile command post trailer recently acquired by the county emergency services department. The truck costs $59,686, but part of the purchase will be paid through grant funds.

Approved hiring Butler Floor and Carpet to replace the Butler County logo inlaid in the floor of the county government center lobby. The cost is $1,700.

Approved an agreement with Rapid Financial Solutions to pay jurors using a debit card instead of cash or checks. The jury pools were paid with cash and those selected to serve on a jury were paid with checks, but during the coronavirus pandemic, all were paid with checks. The cards will preclude the county from processing 200 or more checks for a single trial. The cost will be 55 cents per juror, which is less than buying checks and envelopes and stamps to mail them.
