Possible tornado in Armstrong County
Tornado warnings for areas to the east of Butler County resulted in a possible tornado in Wayne Township, Armstrong County.
Bill Modzelewski, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, said a barn collapsed and trees were reported to be down on one property there.
He said NWS officials will travel to Armstrong on Friday to complete a storm survey, which will confirm whether a tornado or other weather issue caused the damage.
The survey also will include searching for weather-related damage in other areas of Armstrong County, which abuts Butler County to the east.
