BUTLER CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE

Gwen Atkinson and Deb Shutak will provide music for the 10:45 a.m. Sunday service at Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68.

The Caravan Kids Club's annual Blue and White Dinner will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Participants must meet in uniform at 6 p.m. at the church.

CHRIST COMMUNITY U.M.

The youth group of Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, will participate in the 30-Hour Famine beginning Friday. Donations and pledges are being accepted by youth group members.

Couples of the church will attend the annual winter retreat at Olmstead Manor from Friday through Sunday.

The Rev. Henry Hall, senior chaplain at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center, will lead the 6:30 p.m. Saturday worship service.

Pastor Emeritus, the Rev. Cloyd Osborne, will conduct the 11 a.m. Sunday service.

The third trimester of adult Sunday school classes will begin at 9:45 a.m. Sunday.

An all-church tureen dinner, hosted by the Tables of Eight Sunday School Class, will begin at noon Sunday at Oz Hall.

CHRIST'S OUTREACH

Debbie Price will provide music for the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Christ's Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave.

Innerchange will present "Celebrate Jesus, Celebrate" featuring Gene Hixon on drums at 7 p.m. Saturday.

A wild game dinner will be held at 6 p.m. March 4 in Fellowship Hall.

The Youth Quizzers group will depart for Deer Lakes at 7 a.m. March 5.

Orders for Easter lilies will be accepted through March 6.

The Easter Egg hunt will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. March 19. To register, call the church office at 724-283-8407.

COVENANT PRESBY

The first of the Lenten Recital Series will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday in the sanctuary of Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St. The Alle Psalllite early music ensemble will present music of the Medieval and Renaissance periods. A reception will follow in the Assembly Room.

Dr. Victor Adebimpe, a psychiatrist associated with Mercy Behavior Health Center, will lead the Seekers Class on Sunday. He will speak on Mental Health in Later Years. The class meets at 9:45 a.m. in the Assembly Room.

FAITH U.P.

A catered meal will be held after the 10:30 a.m. service on March 6 at Faith United Presbyterian Church, 1329 N. Main St. Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for elementary school age children and free for preschool age children.

The Trinity Lutheran Church Van, which transports members of the Meadowbrook Kids' Club from the Meadowbrook Apartments to Faith United Presbyterian Church, will pick up club members at 7 p.m. Wednesdays at the apartments during March.

FIRST BAPTIST

The Berean Sunday school class of First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will hold a social at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Baptist Youth Center. The meal will feature hoagies and ice cream.

Members of the Kingdom Seekers Sunday school class and their families will share a family breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Sunday in the church social rooms. Each family is to bring a dish to pass.

First Baptist Church will conduct a nursing home service at 2 p.m. Monday at Sunnyview Nursing Home.

Delores Hilgar will be the speaker for the 9 a.m. Tuesday meeting of the Women's Missionary Fellowship, which meets at the Baptist Youth Center. The speaker for the 7 p.m. session is yet to be determined.

FIRST U.M.

Members of FUMC Kidz at First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St., will meet from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the YMCA, 339 N. Washington St. For information, call the church office.

Practice for the Hosanna Presentation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday in the main sanctuary.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

Family Sunday school will be held at 9:45 a.m. Sunday at First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St.

Evening prayers will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church. Light refreshments will follow.

The Health Ministry continues Sunday. It follows the 8:30 a.m. service and is also available before and after the 11 a.m. service.

GLADE RUN U.P.

The Worship Planning Meeting of Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia, will be held at 7 p.m. Monday.

The Preschool Place Board Meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Monday.

The Mission Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The Contemporary Worship Planning Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Reservations are being accepted for the Annual Women's Retreat to be held April 8 to 10 at Jumonville Christian Camp and Retreat Center. Cost is $95 per person. Pre-registration is required by March 14. Call 724-779-9702 for information.

The third annual Children's Festival, Extreme World Makeover, will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. All children, ages 4 through 5th grade are welcome. Registration forms may be picked up at the church office or by calling Gloria at 724-898-1016. The cost of the day is a donation to Heifer Project International.

GRACE @ CALVARY LUTHERAN

The youth of Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., will host a Make a Movie Night from 5 to 11 p.m. Friday at the church. Dinner will be provided.

A rock concert for youth will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday in the Catacombs. Bands will include Death Follows Daybreak, From this Day, Signal Home and Arlington Arms. Cost is $5 at the door.

A combined Lenten service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Presbyterian Church. The speaker will be the Rev. Timothy Bupp.

In celebration of Black History Month, Ken Anderson will be speaking and singing at the 8:30 a.m. Sunday service.

HILL U.P.

The instrumental ensemble will perform at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St. A tour of church facilities and programs and light refreshments will follow.

New adult Sunday school classes begin at 9:15 a.m. this Sunday. Childcare for children younger than 3 begins at 9 a.m.

Orders for lilies, tulips and hyacinths to decorate the chancel on Easter Sunday are now being accepted. Cost is $7.

Volunteers are needed to set up, clean up and prepare food for the Easter breakfast on March 27. A sign-up sheet is located on the Deacon's table.

Donations of veggie trays and desserts are needed for the HYLights youth group each Sunday. Youth group members in grades 8 to 12 should turn in their registration and deposits for the summer 2005 mission trip as soon as possible.

NEW LIFE CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES

Planning for the Summer Blast carnival at New Life Christian Ministries, Knoch School Auditorium, 345 Knoch Road, Saxonburg, will be held at 12:30 p.m. March 6 at The Bridge, 102 Bay St., Penn Township. NORTH MAIN ST. CHURCH OF GOD

Communion will be served at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at North Main Street Church of God, 1201 N. Main St. Ext.

The Easter Musical choir will hold rehearsal from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday in the sanctuary.

OLD UNION PRESBY

The Worship Committee of Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, will meet after the Sunday worship service.

The Presbytery is sponsoring a leadership training event Sunday afternoon. Information is available in the back of the church.

Anyone interested in being part of the cast for this year's play, to be performed the May 20 to 22, should speak with Lorene Winner or sign up in the back of the church.

SLIPPERY ROCK U.M.

A free showing of "The Passion of the Christ" will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at Slippery Rock United Methodist, Franklin and Maple streets, Slippery Rock. A discussion and refreshments will follow in the Praise Café.

A winter carnival will be held Saturday in Fellowship Hall. The event will include games and food.

ST. JOHN'S U.C.C.

A congregational meeting will be held after the 11 a.m. Sunday service at St. John's United Church of Christ, 501 E. Main St., Evans City. A Lenten luncheon, prepared by the music committee, will follow the meeting.

ST. MARK'S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN

Orders for lilies to decorate the chancel of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., on Easter Sunday are due March 13. Order forms are available in the pew racks, reception area, narthex and chapel. Cost is $6. Payment and forms can be placed in the offering plate or sent to the church office.

Donations are needed to purchase a defibrillator for the church. The estimated cost is $100. Donations exceeding the cost will be used to update and replenish first aid supplies. To donate, designate "defibrillator" on a pew envelope and place in the offering plate or office mailbox.

A nursery program, providing childcare for children younger than 5 during church services, is being planned. For information or to volunteer, call 724-287-6741.

ST. PETER'S EPISCOPAL

Due to the painting of the sanctuary, Sunday services at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 218 E. Jefferson St., will be held in the parish hall.

The Lenten study, Pleasing God, will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

A combined Lutheran/Episcopal Lenten service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church.

TRINITY PRESBY

Orders for Easter flowers to decorate the sanctuary at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 107 Staley Ave., are due March 13. A list of available plants is printed in the church bulletin. Checks should be made to the Board of Deacons.

Boy Scout Troop 20 will host a spaghetti dinner from noon to 3 p.m., Sunday in Fellowship Hall. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children younger than 13.

The Hearts and Hands card ministry will now concentrate on homebound church members. A list of monthly birthdays and anniversaries are available in the church newsletter for those wishing to send additional cards.

VALENCIA PRESBY

The Rev. Alan Adams, executive Presbyter of the Beaver-Butler Presbytery will be the guest speaker at the Sunday service at Valencia Presbyterian Church, 80 Sterrett St., Valencia.

WEST SUNBURY U.P.

The youth group of West Sunbury United Presbyterian Church, 215 East Church St., West Sunbury, will participate in the 30-Hour Famine on Friday and Saturday. To donate, call 724-867-0449.
