11:07 p.m. Monday - Marius Burgess, 33, of Pittsburgh was arrested for driving under the influence after his car struck another car, driven by Mary Hines, 23, of New Castle, which was parked on a grass berm after becoming disabled on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township.Police said Burgess fled after the crash but he was found a short time later walking along the highway.In addition to DUI, Burgess is charged with driving with a suspended license, driving too fast for conditions and accidents involving damage to an attended vehicle.7 p.m. Monday - A pickup truck driven by Robert Miller, 59, of Butler traveled off Route 68 near Route 268 in Fairview Township and struck a utility pole, which was sheared off at its base in the crash.5:24 p.m. Monday - A car driven by John Tishey, 18, of Clay Township struck the rear of a car driven by Chase Campbell, 20, of Slippery Rock Township on Route 8 near the Switchback motocross track in Clay Township. Tishey was cited for driving too fast for conditions.11:55 p.m. Sunday - A car driven by William Zavidny, 19, of Prospect traveled off Route 488 near Yellow Creek Road in Muddy Creek Township and struck a utility pole, which was sheared off in the crash.10:09 p.m. Sunday - David Walls, 35, of Wampum lost control of his tractor-trailer when his 15-ton load of metal coil shifted on Winfield Road in Winfield Township. The rig rolled onto its side, sending the metal coil off the trailer and into five vehicles parked at the BCP Automotive parking lot.4:45 a.m. Sunday - Daniel Anglum, 30, and Valerie Henicheck, 38, both of Mars, were arrested for simple assault following an altercation at a Mars home.Sunday - Three rifles and three shotguns were reportedly taken between 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. in a burglary at the Cranmer Lane home of Clifford Cranmer in Chicora. The guns have a combined value of $1,000.5:42 p.m. Saturday - A mini-van driven by Rebecca Marsh, 37, of Cooperstown veered off Interstate 79 in Lancaster Township, struck an embankment and rolled over before landing on its wheels.Marsh and two passengers, Andrew Marsh, 15, and Randi Marsh, 13, all wearing seat belts, were taken with minor to moderate injuries to UPMC Passavant Cranberry.Friday - About $444 in currency was taken from locked cash boxes in a burglary between 1 and 9 a.m. at Bob's Sub Shop on South Main Street in Slippery Rock.
Jan. 22 - A suspect, whom police did not identify, between Jan. 1 and 22 allegedly stole $985 at the T/A Center truck stop near Interstate 80 in Barkeyville, Venango County. Police said the theft investigation continues.
7:18 p.m. Monday - A car driven by Nak Ki Kim, 24, of Atlanta, Ga., skidded off snow-covered Interstate 79 in Springfield Township, Mercer County, and struck a guardrail.
