County warming up this week
Winter is making its way out of Butler County this week, according to a forecast from the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh.
According to a meteorologist at the NWS, scattered showers were expected to hover over the county and provide a tenth of an inch of snow Tuesday evening. The sky is expected to clear in later hours of the night.
Early Wednesday, freezing rain and some snow is possible after 2 a.m. This will then transition to only freezing rain expected around 3 a.m. Less than tenth of an inch is possible for any precipitation that may occur Tuesday and Wednesday, according to NWS’s online report.
While temperatures are expected to rise to the 40s and 60s in the first half of the week, Thursday could see a high near 70 degrees and rain is 80% likely.
By Friday morning, temperatures fall to 40 degrees once again, and there’s a chance of snow before 11 a.m. From that time on, there’s a chance of rain showers throughout the week.
Saturday will once again convince county residents that spring has sprung, with a high of 51 degrees and sunshine.
