1:25 p.m. Dec. 21 — A car driven by Angela Pollock, 24, of Butler struck the rear of a truck driven by Todd Mills, 34, of Tionesta on Main Street at the Pittsburgh Road intersection.4:30 p.m. Thursday — John O'Donnell, 19, of Harrisburg reported an unknown person broke into his car and stole a backpack while the vehicle was parked on North Washington Street. The backpack, which is owned by Judd Kennedy, 20, of Rector, Pa., contained electronic equipment, including a digital camera and an iPod, and clothing. The value of the iPod was unavailable. The remaining items have a total value of $670.6:33 p.m. Thursday — Jeff Lucco, 39, of Butler reported the theft of a lawn decoration — a Santa in a chimney — from his yard at 520 N. Washington St. sometime overnight.Monday — Vandalism was reported at the Farmers' Market wooden pavilion on Race Street. Wooden panels were removed, causing $250 worth of damage.

8 a.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Rory Rieger, age unavailable, of Butler was traveling on Three Degree Road in Penn Township when it hit a large tree and overturned. He was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

8:03 p.m. Dec. 28 — A vehicle owned by Michael J. Berning, 40, of Fairlawn Boulevard, Zelienople, was involved in a hit-and-run in the parking lot of the Freeway Lanes at 22406 Perry Highway. The vehicle, which was parked in the lot, sustained rear end bumper, fender and lighting damage. A witness told police he saw a silver Dodge Ram truck with rear end damage drive through the parking lot.3:56 a.m. Dec. 24 — Benjamin Daryl Hartzell, 21, of 461 Brownsdale Road, Renfrew, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police were called to a one vehicle accident with a car in a ditch on Lindsay Road.7:16 a.m. Dec. 22 — A vehicle driven by Cynthia Somogy, 28, of 109 Cornell Dr., Butler, and Michael Omstead, 36, 119 Germaine Road, Butler, collided on Route 68 near the Evans City Beer Distributor. Both drivers were taken to UPMC Passavant Cranberry by Harmony EMS for evaluation and treatment.

7:19 p.m. Sunday — Garth E. Runion, 27, of Lynchburg, Va., was charged with carrying firearms without a license after police found a loaded handgun in his vehicle. Police were investigating a report of suspicious activity in a North Center Street parking lot.Dec. 20 — Marie J. Welton, 18, of Barkeyville Road was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after officials at Grove City High School found marijuana in her belongings. She was arraigned before District Justice Lawrence Silvis in Worth Township, Mercer County, and released on unsecured bond.

Monday — Someone broke into apartments 3 and 5 at 166 Liberty Road between Dec. 16 and 26. Items owned by Christopher Geddis, 20, of Cranberry Township and Casey Dinger, 19, of Oakridge were reported taken.Dec. 19 — The Slippery Rock Post Office reported that between Dec. 16 and 19 someone broke into the postal box on West Maltby Avenue and took its contents.Dec. 15 — Shanell Morris, 20, of Towers Hall was arrested for burglary. Morris was observed entering a Towers Hall apartment without permission.Dec. 15 — Richard F. Moore, 22, of Lewisburg reported $240 was taken from his vehicle while it was parked near Bob's Subs on Main Street.Dec. 14 — Michael L. Miller, 21, of Mercersburgh was arrested for driving under the influence after police witnessed him traveling the wrong way on the one-way alley behind the Ginger Hill Tavern, 278 S. Main St.
