Butler Police12:31 p.m. Tuesday — Joshua A. Hakeem, 27, of Butler was arrested on a domestic relations warrant at a store on South Chestnut Street. Hakeem was placed in Butler County Prison.10:09 p.m. Monday — David J. Hudak, 42, of Butler was arrested on a bench warrant at a home in the 100 block of West New Castle Street.3:54 p.m. Monday — Brian M. Payment Jr. was charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia after he apparently passed out on a neighbor’s porch.City police found Payment, 24, of Butler, on the back porch of a home in the 200 block of West Jefferson Street. He was unconscious and bleeding from a cut around his right eye.Payment told medical rescue crews that he injected three or four stamps of heroin and passed out. Police said they found a fresh needle track mark on his arm. Officers also found Payment with a full stamp bag of suspected heroin and two syringes,Police later learned that Payment was wanted by the Allegheny County Sheriff’s office on a warrant. He was taken to Butler County Prison and arraigned on $5,000 bail.6:50 a.m. Saturday — Thomas J. Clark, 21, of Slippery Rock faces several charges after police found him passed out, still holding a half-eaten cheeseburger, in a car at a parking lot n West New Castle Street.Officers had to awaken Clark, who appeared to be intoxicated. Police found him with a hypodermic needle, suspected marijuana, crack pipe, two empty stamp bags of suspected heroin and rolling papers.He was arrested and taken to the police station. While in the holding cell, he allegedly ripped a blanket.Clark is charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, public drunkenness and criminal mischief.12:01 a.m. Monday — Jamie P. Johnson, 41, of Butler Township was arrested for driving under the influence on West New Castle Street. In addition to DUI, police charged Johnson with driving an unregistered vehicle and careless driving.3:10 p.m. July 5 — Robert C.J. Best, 26, of Lyndora was arrested for retail theft after he tried to steal $175 worth of video games from the Kmart store at Pullman Square.Store employees told police that they saw Best with a knife cutting open Sony PlayStation 3 game cases. He allegedly placed the discs in his pockets.Police said they found seven games and five other items in his pockets when they confronted Best.
Butler Twp Police12:47 a.m. June 30 — Ivan A. Alicea, 47, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance on Route 8 south.
Grove City PoliceSunday — A home in the 600 block of Barmore Avenue was burglarized between 6 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Sunday. Anyone with information about the break-in is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.7:48 a.m. Friday — A deer ran into the side of a car traveling on West Main Street near the Pizza Hut. Deborah Hartman, 42, of Grove City was driving the car.4 a.m. Thursday — Ronald Lee Baun, 39 of Grove City was arrested for suspected drunken driving following a short police chase in the borough. Baun is charged with driving under the influence, fleeing or attempting to elude police, resisting arrest and driving with a suspended license-DUI related.He was placed in Mercer County Jail on a parole violation following his arrest.1:59 a.m. Thursday — Eric R. Hunsaker, 20, of Mercer was arrested on a charge of suspicion of driving under the Influence of marijuana on West Main Street. In addition to DUI, Hunsaker is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and seven counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. He also was cited for speeding.Thursday — A blue Old Town Otter Plus kayak was stolen from a home in the 100 block of West Poplar Street. A window screen at the home also was damaged.1:51 a.m. June 27 — Sean Miller, 19, of Grove City was arrested after he kicked in a door to an apartment complex in the 200 block of Pine Street and started arguing and yelling with a tenant. Miller faces charges of burglary, criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and underage drinking.June 26 — Nothing was taken in a burglary at an apartment in the 100 block of Spruce Street. The unknown burglar kicked in the door to get inside. Anyone having information is asked to call police.
Butler County DUI Task ForceSunday — One person was arrested for driving under the influence and 25 traffic tickets were issued during a roving patrol detail in Butler County over the Fourth of July holiday weekend.In all, 56 vehicles were stopped. In addition to the DUI arrest and the tickets, police wrote two summary criminal citations, made 15 identification checks and issued 54 traffic warnings.
State Police, FranklinJuly 1 — A thief stole a diamond tennis bracelet from a home in the 1800 block of Clintonville Road in Irwin Township. The bracelet, valued at $1,200, was taken between April 1 and July 1.
State Police, Mercer3:31 p.m. Tuesday — Gary L. Boylan, 57, of Grove City was hurt when he lost control of his car and struck a large tree along Hamburg Road just west of McDowell Road in Delaware Township. Boylan, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to UPMC Greenville with moderate injuries.
