6:25 a.m. Wednesday — A van driven by Richard McCarthy, 85, of Saxonburg and a tractor-trailer driven by Thomas Sigler, 52, of Kittanning collided at the intersection of Bonniebrook Road and Route 422 in Summit Township. McCarthy, who was wearing a seat belt, received moderate injuries. The van's passengers, a 16-year-old Butler male and a 3-year-old Butler male who were being taken to a school for the deaf in Pittsburgh, received minor injuries. The 16-year-old was wearing a seat belt and the 3-year-old was in a booster seat. All three van occupants were taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment. Sigler was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. Butler Ambulance, the East Butler Volunteer Fire Department and Lick Hill Volunteer Fire Department assisted state police at the scene.Wednesday — Someone stole numerous items from Barbara Gerstner's Center Township residence on Holyoke Road sometime overnight. Police are investigating.Tuesday — Jason L. Losser, 23, of Jefferson Township was charged with simple assault after allegedly striking Tracy Lawther, 21, and grabbing her by the neck during a domestic dispute at their residence at 105 Caldwell Drive between 6:30 and 7 p.m. Lawther was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for minor injuries and released. Losser was arraigned before District Judge Wayne Seibel and released on bond.Tuesday — Someone stole various items totaling $173 from Hot Rods Hideaway in Fairview Township between midnight and 10 a.m. Along with a forced entry, a computer was damaged.4:44 p.m. Monday — A car driven by Suzann Sullivan, 47, of Hilliards struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Nancy Nalepa, 60, of Petrolia, which was stopped for traffic on Route 38 in Concord Township. Both drivers were wearing seat belts and were not injured. Sullivan was cited for not driving at a safe speed.
5:30 p.m. Monday — A car driven by Lindsay Isaac, 25, of State College, Pa., and an SUV driven by Michael Agostinelli, 49, of Shippenville collided on Interstate 80 in Allegheny Township. The impact caused the SUV to roll over multiple times and the car to hit a sign and land in a ditch. No one was injured. Both drivers and the SUV's passenger, Robin Agostinelli, 53, also of Shippenville, all were wearing seat belts. Isaac was cited for a traffic violation.
